Just Got Back From Actually Purchasing A Classic Ford Mustang

I really haven’t much been able to write on this blog nearly as much as I’d planned, owing to how much I have been running around town with Dad with his wild & crazy midlife crisis. Well, I guess it’s not as far out as it could be. How it went, I mean the way he played it out was he dressed up like the Fonz or something, and storm over to my house and proclaim to me, in his jazziest possible vocal tone: “Put some shades on, dude, we’re out looking for some classic Ford Mustang Sales. You better believe it, brother, I intend to buy one.”

Before I knew what was happening my Dad and I were off to a few of those wild classic car places that I’m always pretty much sure are not exactly legit, and I can’t believe it when this wild old guy made out a check within just a few minutes, for an unnaturally gleaming classic Ford Mustang. I have to admit, it’s an impressive machine. It had a great sound too.

I want to point out that I wrote that in the past tense. It had a great sound for a short time, at which point it became silent. The old man says that it’s just a easy thing to fix and he just needs the right part. I’m thinking, it’s not as straightforward to find 1968 Mustang parts as it was over a million years ago, but he insists that there’s a pretty sizable market for them regardless. As far as my Dad tells me the best place to find parts for classic Mustangs is via internet auctions, because you can find them refurbished and occasionally even brand new. They might not be available for a nominal fee, however… After all, these are 30-year-old automobile parts.

I guess it could’ve been worse… He might’ve bought a harley.
